    • Jeff Battcher

      Jeff Battcher was a two sport standout at Stratford Academy before going on to play both in College at the University of Utah. At Stratford he set passing records in football that stood for 35 years. He was First Team All State in 1978 and was selected at the Macon Telegraph’s Middle Georgia Offensive Player of the Year. He led the Eagles to the State title game both his junior and Senior seasons. He was a two time All Region and one time All State pitcher for the Stratford Baseball team. Jeff also played basketball for the Eagles helping lead his team to a state title as a junior. He signed a football scholarship at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga but transferred after one season to the Utah where he played quarterback and was a pitcher for the Utes. Jeff has served on the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Authority Board, being appointed by then Governor Zell Miller. He is involved in numerous charitable organizations related to youth and Sports In addition to serving on numerous boards, he is heavily involved with Major League Baseball’s “Reviving Baseball in Inner cities” (RBI) program which provides baseball equipment and coaching to socioeconomically-challenged inner city youth. He joins his wife, Janet, in the Macon Sports Hall of Fame. They become the first husband and wife team so honored. (more)
