As a Track and Field Athlete at Mt. de Sales Academy, Chad McDaniel excelled in distance running, specifically the two mile. As a freshman he set a new school record in the event and when he had completed his high school career he had established a school record time of 4:42 in the mile run and a time of 10:15 in the two mile. He won the region title in the two mile all four years and was he GISA state AAA two mile champion in 1992 and 1993. His senior year he defeated the second place finisher by over a minute and a half. After completing his undergraduate degree at Samford and his Master's at Georgia College and State University, Chad embarked on a coaching career beginning at First Presbyterian Day School. He founded the Cross Country program at FPD and won 11 region titles (7 boys and 4 girls) and six state (5 boys, l girls) championships. After taking over the Track and Field teams in 2005, he led them to five region (2 boys, 3 girls) and five state (2 boys and 3 girls) championships. He moved to the Wesleyan School in Atlanta in 2007 and success followed there as well winning region and state titles on numerous occasions. His overall coaching mark at FPD and Wesleyan show 26 region and 17 state titles. Between track and cross country, Chad has been recognized as region coach of the year 25 times and state coach of the year 15 times. |

Tom Fontaine
Tom Fontaine(2005)As a charter member and president of the Kiwanis Club, he helped bring little league baseball to Macon in 1952. Hde received a meritorious service award for counseling, assisting and guiding the Macon Little League into various communities throughout District 5 in 1960. The Macon Little League field is named in his honor. (more)
